Grid Art Auctions – Terms and Conditions for Artists

1. Introduction
Welcome to Grid Art Auctions. By registering as an artist and submitting artworks for auction, you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

2. Artist Registration and Fees
2.1. To participate in auctions on the platform, artists must pay an annual registration fee of £25, which grants access to auction listings.
2.2. The registration fee is non-refundable and must be renewed annually for continued participation.

3. Submission of Artwork
3.1. Artists must complete and submit a submission form for each artwork they wish to sell at auction.
3.2. The starting price for each artwork must be no more than 50% of the current market value.
3.3. The artist must provide accurate and detailed information, including:
- Artwork title, description, and medium
- Dimensions and weight of the packed artwork (for shipping calculation)
- High-quality images that accurately depict the piece

3.4. It is the artist’s responsibility to ensure that the images submitted represent the actual artwork. Any discrepancies may result in a dispute.

4. Auction Process and Pricing
4.1. Grid Art Auctions does not allow reserve prices. By submitting an artwork, the artist agrees to accept the final auction price.
4.2. The artist will receive the adjudication price, which is the final bid amount at auction.
4.3. The platform charges a fee to the buyer, structured as follows:
- 30% for artworks sold up to £100
- 25%
for artworks sold between £101 – £1,000
- 20%
for artworks sold between £1,001 – £10,000
- 15%
for artworks sold over £10,000
4.4. The artist acknowledges that once an artwork is accepted into an auction, it cannot be withdrawn.

5. Payment and Funds Transfer
5.1. Grid Art Auctions will collect payment from the buyer upon the completion of the auction.
5.2. The adjudication price will be transferred to the artist within 20 days after the buyer confirms receipt of the artwork, provided that no dispute has been opened.
5.3. In the case of a dispute, Grid Art Auctions will hold the funds until the issue is resolved.

6. Shipping and Logistics
6.1. The artist is responsible for professionally preparing the artwork for shipping to ensure safe transport.
6.2. The platform will arrange for shipping and send a courier to collect the packed artwork from the artist’s provided location.
6.3. The artist must provide the accurate dimensions and weight of the packed artwork for shipping cost calculations.

7. Dispute Resolution
7.1. If a buyer raises a dispute regarding the received artwork (e.g., condition, authenticity, or misrepresentation), Grid Art Auctions reserves the right to hold the artist’s payment until the dispute is resolved.
7.2. The artist must cooperate in resolving disputes, which may involve providing additional information or proof of authenticity or liaising with the buyer.

8. Auction Participation and Selection
8.1. Artists may submit a maximum of five (5) artworks for auction at any given time.
8.2. Grid Art Auctions reserves the right to select which artworks will be included in each auction and may decide not to publish specific artworks for auction at its sole discretion.
8.3. All auctions will be online auctions, and the total number of artworks per auction will be determined by Grid Art Auctions.
8.4. Grid Art Auctions guarantees each artist participation in at least two auctions per year, with a minimum of one artwork per auction.

9. Artist Registration and Approval
9.1. Grid Art Auctions reserves the right to stop accepting new artist registrations once a certain number of artists have been reached.
9.2. The platform also reserves the right to refuse an artist’s registration at its discretion.
9.3. To apply, artists must complete the Artist Interest Form on the website, providing the necessary details and portfolio information.
9.4. If the application is approved, the artist will receive a link to proceed with the subscription fee payment and gain access to the platform.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
10.1. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
10.2. In the event of any dispute arising between the artist and Grid Art Auctions, both parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in London, United Kingdom.

11. Final Agreement
11.1. By participating in Grid Art Auctions, the artist fully accepts these terms, including:
- The final auction price without any reserve pricing.
- The buyer-based fee structure as part of the sale.
- The platform’s role in handling payments, shipping, and disputes.
11.2. Grid Art Auctions reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time, with changes communicated to registered artists.

1. IntroductionWelcome to Grid Art Auctions. By participating in our auctions as a buyer, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These terms ensure a fair, transparent, and seamless experience for both buyers and artists.

2. Bidding and Purchase Commitment
2.1. All bids placed during an auction are final and legally binding.
2.2. The highest bidder at the close of the auction wins the artwork and is required to complete the purchase.
2.3. No retractions or cancellations are permitted once a bid has been placed.

3. Payment Terms
3.1. The accepted payment method is Stripe, allowing payments via credit/debit card and bank draft.
3.2. The buyer is responsible for paying the full invoice amount (including the artwork price, applicable fees, and shipping costs) within one week of the auction’s closing date.
3.3. If payment is not received within one week, the artist reserves the right to:Recover any damages incurred due to non-payment.Withdraw the artwork and make it unavailable for purchase.
3.4. Any additional costs related to chargebacks or failed payments will be the responsibility of the buyer.

4. Fees and Charges
4.1. The final sale price includes a buyer’s premium, which is added to the winning bid as follows:
30% for artworks sold up to £100
25%
for artworks sold between £101 – £1,000
20%
for artworks sold between £1,001 – £10,000
15%
for artworks sold over £10,000
4.2. Shipping costs will be calculated based on the size and destination of the package and added to the final invoice.

5. Shipping and Delivery
5.1. All artworks will be shipped via courier and fully insured.
5.2. In-person collection is not permitted—all purchases must be shipped to the buyer’s provided address.
5.3. Shipping costs will be clearly detailed on the invoice and must be paid along with the artwork price.
5.4. Grid Art Auctions is responsible for arranging shipping and will provide tracking information once the artwork is dispatched.

6. Receipt and Condition of Artwork
6.1. Buyers must inspect the artwork upon delivery and report any issues within one week of receipt.
6.2. If no dispute is raised within this timeframe, the sale is considered final, and no further claims can be made.
6.3. In case of any disputes regarding the condition or authenticity of the artwork, the buyer must:
- Contact Grid Art Auctions within one week of receiving the item.
- Provide clear evidence (photos and description) to support the claim.
6.4. Grid Art Auctions will review the case and hold the payment if necessary until a resolution is reached.

7. Liability and Dispute Resolution
7.1. Grid Art Auctions ensures that all artworks are accurately represented through high-quality images and descriptions provided by the artists.
7.2. The artist is responsible for the authenticity and condition of the artwork, while Grid Art Auctions facilitates the transaction and shipping.
7.3. In the event of a dispute, Grid Art Auctions will mediate between the buyer and the artist, holding funds if necessary until a resolution is reached.
7.4. Once the buyer confirms receipt and no dispute is raised within one week, Grid Art Auctions releases the adjudication price to the artist, and the transaction is considered complete and final.

8. Agreement to Terms
8.1. By placing a bid and completing a purchase, the buyer agrees to:
- Pay the full invoice amount within one week of the auction closing.
- Accept no returns or refunds beyond the stated dispute period.
- Receive the artwork exclusively via courier (no in-person collection allowed).
- Abide by Grid Art Auctions' payment, shipping, and dispute resolution policies.
8.2. Grid Art Auctions reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued participation in auctions signifies acceptance of any modifications.
